Ingredients
Scale
Buffalo Chicken Filling
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, room temperature
- 2 cups (280g) rotisserie chicken, shredded and chopped
- 1 cup (113g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup (113g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/3 cup (84g) buffalo sauce
Pastry & Topping
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 large egg, beaten
- Ranch dressing, for drizzling
- Extra buffalo sauce, for drizzling
- Parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
- Prepare Filling: In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix the cream cheese, shredded rotisserie chicken, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, and buffalo sauce until all ingredients are evenly combined and creamy. Set aside.
- Roll Puff Pastry: Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet into a 9×12-inch rectangle to create a base for the filling.
- Assemble Roll-Up: Evenly spread the buffalo chicken mixture over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges. Carefully roll the pastry tightly into a log, sealing the edges to prevent leakage, then slice into 1-inch pieces.
- Prepare for Baking: Place the roll-up slices on the lined baking sheet. Brush the top of each piece with the beaten egg to achieve a shiny, golden crust. Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown. For added richness, optionally top each roll-up with extra buffalo chicken mixture and bake an additional 6–8 minutes.
- Serve: Remove from the oven, then drizzle roll-ups with extra buffalo sauce and ranch dressing. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Use rotisserie chicken for convenience and extra flavor; you can also substitute with cooked chicken breast.
- Adjust the amount of buffalo sauce according to your preferred spice level.
- Chill puff pastry as directed on the package prior to rolling if it becomes too soft to handle.
- Serve immediately for the best texture; leftovers can be reheated in the oven to maintain crispiness.
- These roll-ups can be made ahead and baked just before serving to save time.
