Description

This Cheeseburger Bowls recipe offers a low-carb, flavorful twist on the classic cheeseburger by serving all the delicious ingredients in a bowl without the bun. Featuring seasoned ground beef, fresh vegetables, tangy pickled toppings, crispy bacon, and a smoky burger sauce, this dish is perfect for a quick, satisfying meal that’s ready in 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Ground Beef and Toppings

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup pickled red onions (or raw red onions)
  • 1/2 cup sliced pickles
  • 2 tbsp relish
  • 1/4 cup pickled jalapeno slices
  • 1/2 cup crumbled, cooked bacon
  • 4 cups shredded lettuce

Burger Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp pickle relish
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Burger Sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, yellow mustard, pickle relish, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until smooth and set the sauce aside while you prepare the rest of the dish.
  2. Cook the Ground Beef: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and season generously with salt and pepper. Cook the meat thoroughly, breaking it apart with a spatula for even browning, for about 7 to 10 minutes. Once fully cooked, drain any excess fat and remove from heat.
  3. Assemble the Cheeseburger Bowls: Divide the shredded lettuce evenly into serving bowls. Layer each bowl with cooked ground beef, halved cherry tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, pickled red onions, sliced pickles, pickled jalapeno slices, and crumbled bacon. Drizzle the prepared burger sauce liberally on top. Serve immediately and enjoy your flavorful cheeseburger bowl.

Notes

  • You can substitute pickled red onions with raw red onions for a milder flavor.
  • For a spicier kick, increase the amount of pickled jalapenos or add hot sauce to the burger sauce.
  • Make sure to drain excess fat after cooking the beef to keep the bowls from being greasy.
  • This dish can be customized with additional toppings such as avocado slices or sautéed mushrooms.
  • Leftover burger sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
