Description

These Game Day Garlic Steak and Cheese Sandwiches are a perfect blend of tender, savory ribeye steak, melted provolone cheese, and aromatic garlic parsley butter, layered inside toasted French bread. Ideal for a crowd, they deliver rich flavors and satisfying textures that make for an ultimate hearty sandwich experience.

Ingredients

Scale

Garlic Butter

  • â…“ cup butter, softened
  • 6-8 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1.5 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

Sandwich

  • 1 large loaf of French bread
  • 2 (12 oz) packages Bertolino Certified Angus Beef Shaved Ribeye
  • 6 large slices provolone cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine the softened butter with the finely minced garlic and chopped fresh parsley. Mix until all ingredients are thoroughly combined to create a flavorful garlic butter spread.
  2. Toast French Bread: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the French bread lengthwise and spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on the cut sides. Place the bread cut-side up on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 5-10 minutes, until the bread is lightly golden and fragrant. Remove from the oven and set aside.
  3. Cook the Steak: Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the remaining garlic-parsley-butter mixture from the bowl to the skillet. Once melted, add the shaved ribeye steak, seasoning it with salt and pepper to taste. Cook the steak until it reaches your preferred level of doneness, stirring occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  4. Assemble Sandwiches: Layer the cooked ribeye steak evenly over the toasted garlic bread halves. Place the slices of provolone cheese on top of the steak, covering the surface.
  5. Broil Cheese: Return the baking sheet with the assembled sandwiches to the oven. Broil on high for 1-2 minutes, watching carefully until the provolone cheese has melted fully and begins to bubble slightly.
  6. Serve: Remove the sandwiches from the oven. Fold each sandwich in half and slice into handheld strips for easy eating. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use a cast iron skillet for the best steak sear and flavor.
  • Adjust garlic quantity based on your preference for a milder or stronger garlic flavor.
  • Bertolino Certified Angus Beef is recommended for tender, flavorful steak but any quality shaved ribeye will work.
  • Broil carefully as cheese can burn quickly under high heat.
  • These sandwiches can be prepped ahead by preparing the garlic butter and steak, then assembling and broiling just before serving.
