Description

This easy-to-make Oreo Mud Pie is a creamy, no-bake dessert combining rich chocolate pudding, fluffy Cool Whip, and crunchy crushed Oreos. Perfectly chilled to set, it’s a crowd-pleaser that comes together quickly, making it an ideal treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 box of chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 2 containers of Cool Whip (approximately 8 oz each)
  • 1 sleeve of crushed Oreos (about 14-16 cookies)
  • 1 sleeve of crushed Oreos for topping (about 14-16 cookies)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pudding: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix and 2 cups of whole milk until the mixture thickens, following the package instructions, usually about 2 minutes.
  2. Mix in Cool Whip: Gently fold both containers of Cool Whip into the thickened pudding until fully combined, creating a smooth and fluffy mixture.
  3. Add Crushed Oreos: Fold in one sleeve of crushed Oreos into the pudding and Cool Whip mixture evenly to distribute the cookie pieces.
  4. Layer the Mixture: Pour half of the Oreo and pudding mixture into a serving dish or pie pan, smoothing the surface evenly with a spatula.
  5. Top with More Oreos: Sprinkle the remaining sleeve of crushed Oreos evenly over the layer for added crunch and texture.
  6. Chill: Place the assembled dessert in the refrigerator and chill for at least 2 hours, allowing it to set properly before serving.
  7. Serve: Once chilled, serve the Oreo Mud Pie as is or with additional whipped cream or more crushed Oreos on top if desired for an extra indulgent treat.

Notes

  • Use whole milk for the creamiest texture, but 2% milk can also be used in a pinch.
  • Make sure to chill the pie long enough so the pudding sets nicely; overnight chilling is best for firm texture.
  • For added flavor, you can mix in a teaspoon of vanilla extract into the pudding before folding in Cool Whip.
  • This recipe is a no-bake dessert, so perfect for warm days or quick preparation.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
